Boo Neighbor!

What can be more fun than booing your neighbor? My kiddos love driving around the neighborhood to see who has been booed and who is still waiting!

How do you boo your neighbor? I am so glad you asked! We love to collect Halloween treats and novelties to fill up our Halloween bucket! Target dollar spot did not disappoint this year! Here are some essentials

Candy (obviously)

Glow sticks (perfect for Halloween night)

Halloween pencils & erasers

Window clings

Pumpkin decorating kit

Stickers

Coloring books

The age of the children you are booing should have a huge influence on how you fill your bucket!

Next, print the printable so your neighbors know what their next steps are!

Leaves and Lights

My tomato cage tree is one of my favorite fall decorations. It sits on the hearth next to my fireplace and it’s warm glow just makes the room feel so homey. This is a quick and easy project with only 3 supplies: lights, tomato cage, and leaf garland! That’s it! Easy peasy!  Imagine how pretty they would look to have them sitting on your front porch. That screams come and sit and have a pumpkin spice latte! Now, go dig in the garage to find your old tomato cages and clean them up!

Fall Basket Love

I am so loving the turquoise and orange color combo this year! It may not be traditional but it is super cute and my dollar tree pumpkins are the perfect filler! I ended up attaching the words with wire so I can reuse or repaint the basket if I want to change things up! I love a project that can be repurposed! Enjoy!!!!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Cutest little pumpkins you have ever seen!

My love of the dollar tree is no secret but these pumpkins……. I really can’t stop! It is a problem! Every time I pass a store I find the wheel steering toward that bright green awning and their they are. Boxes of ugly orange pumpkins! But not for long! After a mini transformation they are cute as can be!

Happy pumpkin making,

I Like Big Bows and I Cannot Lie

Yep! I said it! I totally took Baby Got Back and made it about bows! But seriously, bows are crucial in any celebration and learning to make them is a must! I have a quick and easy tutorial that will have you whipping out bows in no time!

You will need: wired ribbon (mix and match), floral wire, and scissors

Cut your ribbon in 12 inch pieces. I like to use anywhere from 6 to 8 pieces. Your length of ribbon and number of pieces determine the size of your bow.

Fold each piece of ribbon and gather about 4 inches below the loop. Think of it like making a bouquet, being sure to mix up your patterns of ribbon.

When you get all the pieces folded and gathered into your bouquet take a piece of floral wire or a pipe cleaner and tightly wrap it around the part that is gathered.

Now it is time to primp! Fluff your loops and move your tails so some point up and some point down. You may have to work on it to get it just right but it will be so worth it when you have a big beautiful bow!

These bows are perfect for tree toppers, mail boxes, door hangers, wreaths, and packages!

Happy Bow Making,

Jessica

Red, White, and BOOM!

Boom, baby!

We’re going to make some noise today! Well, figuratively…

These adorable wooden firecrackers are perfect for adding a patriotic POP to your front porch any time of year, but especially on Independence Day! These DIY decorations are eye-catching and just all around American. Check out the supplies list and step-by-step directions below to make your very own wooden firecrackers!

Supplies:

3 pieces of wood (cut to your liking – I like mine tiered at 3 heights)
Paint: red, white, and blue
Hot glue gun
Drill
Patriotic foil sprays (Michaels or Hobby Lobby)

Step-by-step Tutorial:

  1. Drill a hole in the top of each wooden block
  2. Paint each block a different base color and then add stars, stripes, polka dots – get creative!
  3. After paint dries, squirt a little hot glue into the drilled hole and stick your foil sprays inside!

This is a simple, quick craft that will add tons of patriotism to your decorating game! I can’t wait to see pictures of your finished product. I love that everyone’s creations will be different while still representing the red, white, and blue!

Happy crafting, friends!

Xoxo,

Jessica
