Rachael Ray Segment

Things have been a little exciting around here lately! Imagine my surprise while visiting Magnolia and the Rachael Ray Show called! Me! They called me!!! Totally Crazy! They asked me to do a simple craft and I absolutely love how it turned out! But what I was most excited about was my tablescape. Yep, my table.  Not the craft itself but that table that you only saw for a few seconds. Are you wondering why? I’ll fill you in on my entertaining secrets. Everything on my table was either from Walmart, The Dollar Tree, or Lowes Home Improvement. That’s it! Hello gorgeous and economical! Does it get any better?

Happy Entertaining!

**I apologize for the quality of the video. The show does not provide a link for past episodes so this was the best I could do.

A Little Chandelier Makeover

Ahh… Fall! I love everything about it! The changing leaves, the chill in the air, and all things pumpkin spice. As I pull the big tubs of decorations down from the attic I giggle with excitement! Pumpkins and leaf garlands fill the boxes and before I know it the whole house feels warm and cozy. Using garland on my chandeliers is one of my favorite details when decorating. It is small but makes a big impact!!

Hoping your homes are overflowing with pumpkins and leaves and you find time sit and soak it all in!

    Happy Fall Y’all!

Fall Basket Love

I am so loving the turquoise and orange color combo this year! It may not be traditional but it is super cute and my dollar tree pumpkins are the perfect filler! I ended up attaching the words with wire so I can reuse or repaint the basket if I want to change things up! I love a project that can be repurposed! Enjoy!!!!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Cutest little pumpkins you have ever seen!

My love of the dollar tree is no secret but these pumpkins……. I really can’t stop! It is a problem! Every time I pass a store I find the wheel steering toward that bright green awning and their they are. Boxes of ugly orange pumpkins! But not for long! After a mini transformation they are cute as can be!

Happy pumpkin making,

I Like Big Bows and I Cannot Lie

Yep! I said it! I totally took Baby Got Back and made it about bows! But seriously, bows are crucial in any celebration and learning to make them is a must! I have a quick and easy tutorial that will have you whipping out bows in no time!

You will need: wired ribbon (mix and match), floral wire, and scissors

Cut your ribbon in 12 inch pieces. I like to use anywhere from 6 to 8 pieces. Your length of ribbon and number of pieces determine the size of your bow.

Fold each piece of ribbon and gather about 4 inches below the loop. Think of it like making a bouquet, being sure to mix up your patterns of ribbon.

When you get all the pieces folded and gathered into your bouquet take a piece of floral wire or a pipe cleaner and tightly wrap it around the part that is gathered.

Now it is time to primp! Fluff your loops and move your tails so some point up and some point down. You may have to work on it to get it just right but it will be so worth it when you have a big beautiful bow!

These bows are perfect for tree toppers, mail boxes, door hangers, wreaths, and packages!

Happy Bow Making,

Jessica

Embroidery Hoop Makeover

I love an embroidery hoop. There are so many possibilities! Have you seen the wreaths girls are making out of them on Pinterest? They are stinkin’ gorgeous! I need one in my life!

I had one lying around my craft room and decided to turn it into something for my sweet girls to keep in their room! This project is super easy, super fast, and super cost efficient! Let’s get crafting sweet friends! Here is what you will need:

An embroidery hoop

Scrap of fabric

Hot glue gun

Twine or ribbon

Mini clothes pins (I found mine in the dollar spot at Target)

Ribbon (optional)

To start off, separate your hoop into two parts and lay your fabric across one of the circles. Carefully place the other circle on top while tightening the two pieces. It is important to pull on your fabric to make sure it is completely stretched through the hoop.

Turn the hoop over and trim the extra fabric. Next, dab a little hot glue on the back and attach one end of your twine. You will begin to wrap the twine around the hoop securing it with glue in the back. There is no right or wrong way to do this. Get creative and start wrapping!

When you have the look you love, secure the end of the twine on the back with a little dab of hot glue. You are ready to clip on your tiny clothes pins. Oh, the cuteness!

With your extra twine you can cut a piece and loop it through the top to hang it. Hot glue your bow on and your ready to display pictures, invitations, or reminders.

Cute, easy and functional! That’s what I’m talking about!

Jessica

Personalized Pillows

I love all things personalized so these personalized pillows are right up my alley! I love that I can use my Silhouette Cameo to create what ever my heart desires! These burlap pillow covers make my heart so happy. I love being able to use them to change things up a bit and cover pillows that I already have.

And they are perfect for seasons and holidays! Wanna know the best part? It takes under 15 minutes from start to finish. Yes, girls, you can whip these up in no time! So, let’s get started!

First, you want to create your design in your vinyl cutters software. I chose to use my stencil vinyl to cut my design. When it comes time to weed your vinyl you want to make sure you weed it opposite from how you normally weed your vinyl. Take the good parts out! Using transfer tape apply your stencil to your pillow cover. I really believe that transfer tape makes all the difference here! As much as I love dollar tree contact paper I don’t recommend it for this project. Once I get it transferred I like to put the backing from my vinyl inside my pillow cover so the paint doesn’t bleed through. Just a helpful tip!

Now it’s time to paint! With a make-up sponge lightly dab your paint on your stencil.

It is perfect! Not a paint bleed anywhere! Eek!!!! I love it! It looks 100% store bought and I made it in under 15 minutes! Not bad if I say so myself! Now, go make some pillows!

Happy crafting,

Jessica
